About the event
In this workshop, parents will learn how to enhance their child's confidence and enjoyment in math through engaging games that effectively teach the fundamentals. These games utilize items commonly found in most households. The workshop is conducted by Karen, an experienced tutor and certified teacher from New Zealand, who will demonstrate how to tailor the games to meet your child's specific needs. Whether your child is neurodiverse, experiences math anxiety, has low math confidence, or simply finds it challenging to keep up in class, these games will be beneficial.
This workshop is ideal for children aged 6 to 10 years, or for older children working at this level. You will discover the mathematical objectives of each game, learn how to play and customize them according to your child's comprehension, and understand what to say to your child during the game to optimize their learning. With a maximum of 10 parents participating, the workshop offers an interactive experience with ample opportunities for questions and discussion. If you prefer to observe quietly, that is perfectly acceptable too.
